Topic: OSHA’s Crystalline Silica Rule for Construction: OSHA issued two standards to protect workers from exposure to respirable crystalline silica – one for construction and the other for general industry and maritime. These standards became effective on September 23, 2017. During this meeting OSHA Assistant Area Director Jeff Prebish will discuss some key requirements of the construction standard as well as characteristics and properties of silica, effects of exposure, engineering controls, work practice controls, respiratory protection and Table 1 of the construction standard.
This meeting will be the first of three short duration programs that we have been awarded .3 CEU’s. The January and February meetings will make up the additional two hours needed to receive CEU’s. You must attend all three meetings to be eligible for these CEU’s.
